Lebanese Coffee Cups

Lebanese coffee — ahwe (أهوة) — sits between Arabic gahwa and Turkish coffee. It's typically darker than Gulf-style coffee, sometimes sweetened, and always served as an act of warmth and connection. Our cups serve it beautifully.

Coffee Traditions

In Lebanon, coffee is brewed in a rakwe (similar to a Turkish cezve) with finely ground dark-roasted beans. It may be served plain (sada), lightly sweet (wassat), or sweet (helwe). The host always asks your preference. Coffee is central to social life — from morning rituals on the balcony to afternoon visits with neighbors.

The Cup Style

Lebanese coffee cups tend to be slightly more ornate than Gulf-style cups, sometimes with colorful designs. Our 80ml Classic cups in blue and green capture the Mediterranean warmth of Lebanese aesthetics, while the Gold and Silver Accent cups suit more formal occasions.

FAQ

Is Lebanese coffee the same as Turkish coffee?

Very similar. Both use finely ground, dark-roasted beans brewed in a small pot. Lebanese coffee often uses a slightly coarser grind and the beans may be lightly spiced with cardamom.
